Lemont’s art club takes a trip to the Chicago Art Institute

On Oct. 23, the Art Club took a field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago. Thanks to Mr. Hennebry and Mrs. Idell, each member had the opportunity to explore some of the best art in the world.

One of the senior Art Club members, Jared Hatton, said, “I would say that the art field trip made me realize how much art there truly is around the world. I also saw how so many people interpret art and masterpieces differently, especially how they connect it to their emotions.”

He said, “The overall experience was phenomenal. I’m lucky to say how amazing Lemont’s art department is, especially how the teachers interact with their students. Being in an art class and art club shows how enthusiastic and energetic everyone is over a common love of art.”

The club members also had the chance to sketch some of the masterpieces, making it a good opportunity to incorporate their own skills on a larger scale.

Overall, the field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago was a success; everyone was given the opportunity to observe the different aspects of art, as well as incorporate their own talents. Special thanks to the teachers Mr. Hennebry, Mrs. Idell, and Ms. Bumber for making this adventure happen!
