Spotlight on Clubs:

A cappella sings its way into LHS’s Music Department

Lauren Selfridge, Staff Writer

Ms. Cesaroni, the new Choir Director, has successfully introduced a cappella to the lengthy list of LHS clubs. In the club, approximately 30 students enjoy singing a variety of genres of music, from holiday tunes to pop music.

Ms. Cesaroni says she started a cappella at LHS because of both the “Pitch Perfect” and “Glee” movement. She was very thrilled to see so many students join from the beginning to share their love for singing.

The club’s most recent performance was at the Music Department’s holiday concert in December. The group sang holiday arrangements filled with pep and joy for their audience.

Junior Sarah Hagen loves being in a cappella. She likes the club because of the small time commitment and the friendly students involved. She says the best thing about the club is that “we get to perform and have fun.”

A cappella continues to prepare for performances this semester. Ms. Cesaroni is excited to see new members and hear new voices.

If you are thinking about joining, Sarah says “Join! You don’t have to be a good singer-just be willing to try and improve.”
