Spotlight on Clubs:

Film Club premieres at LHS

Lauren Selfridge, Staff Writer

Film Club, the newest club added to the long list of activities at LHS, had its first meeting Wednesday, January 20th. The club, whose sponsors are Ms. Klingsporn and Mr. Priestley, was created by juniors Siena Schuth and Kyle Marks.

The club’s purpose is to study movies and hopefully eventually create original movies. Mr. Priestley hopes the students “gain a better understanding and appreciation for the different aspects of film” through the club.

Freshman Maira Hernandez loves being in Film Club. After attending the first meeting, Maira says “the club seems really fun and interesting!” She looks forward to learning about the film-making process and watching more movies.

Junior Ahnnabella Kolacki also enjoys Film Club. She joined to support her friends and watch fun movies. She notes that her favorite movies are “The Breakfast Club” and “Pretty in Pink.”

Some of the upcoming films the club will be watching include “Fargo” and “The Graduate.”
The next meeting is set for Wednesday, February 3, in Mr. Priestley’s room. New members are always welcome!
