Student recognized as semi-finalist for national merit scholarship
Lemont High School is known for its astounding academics and constructing brilliant students. One of these students, Bella Wilton, is a senior who is being recognized for her incredible academic achievement. She has made it as a semi-finalist for the National Merit Scholarship which she qualified for due to her stunning score on the SAT.
“There are 16,000 semi finalists selected” said Bella, “Next there will be 15,000 finalists selected and 7,500 of those will get the scholarship.” Bella is one of two LHS students who made it as semi-finalists. She is excited that she has made it so far in the contest and hopes to make it all the way to get the scholarship.
Academic success has always been important to Bella. “My friends, family, and career goals always push me to keep doing my best.” Bella is seen as a role model by many students and teachers appreciate her dedication to her studies.
Bella is excited for her future and to further her education in college. “I want to study Vet Medicine and hopefully major in animal sciences. I have always loved animals and being a vet is definitely my dream job.”
