On February 20th, LHS will be hosting the rave-style dance, Morp (prom backwards), in the Commons from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Taking a twist in a different direction, this year’s Morp theme is Totally 80s, contrary to Paint me Crazy and Superheroes in the past two years respectively.

Similar to years past, tickets will be on sale for $15 starting February 16th through February 19th during lunch.

Popular to each year of Morp, regardless of the theme, is the black lights. These specialized ultraviolet lights produce very little visible light, causing clothing (especially neon) to glow. Juniors Teja Johnson and Emie Choquette mentioned their love for these lights.

Senior Ashley Matthews also had a word to say about the dress-up and lights: “The laid-back atmosphere with black lights, neon colors, and exciting themes brings students together for a fun night.”

Most students thoroughly enjoy dances such as Homecoming and Prom, but many of the party-orientated students would choose Morp instead because it’s not necessary to dress up or spend anymore than the $15 for the ticket.

“Just show up and hang with your friends because no date is needed to have a good time. Being able to dress casually and dance to some awesome music makes the experience unforgettable,” Ashley said enthusiastically.

Ashley knows this dance is a hit.  She said, “Morp is the opposite of Prom! It is definitely not a dance that anyone should miss.
