Prom shopping right around the corner

As soon as  the New Year began, many girls started thinking about Prom. Which dress should I wear? What color and what style? Prom is a night that most girls have looked forward to since they were little. Prom is being held on April 17, at the Odyssey Country Club from 5:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. Tickets will be on sale for $50.

There are tons of styles of dresses one can choose from and various amounts of stores to find the perfect dress at. Many girls go to Peaches to find their perfect dress, but it’s not entirely necessary to have to go to that store. There are other favorable stores to get prom dresses at, including  Hannah’s Boutique, David’s Bridal, and Nordstrom.

When it comes to prom dresses, there’s many different options. New styles come out every year for girls to pick and choose from. The most popular style are 2-piece dresses (the top is separated from the dress). Some examples of dresses are Illusion dresses these dresses are like an optical illusion but in a dress, causing it to look like one thing but is actually something else.

Ball Gowns, is a dress that usually has a very large skirt.

A Cut-Out is a dress with parts of the dress missing such as the back or sides,

Lace, one that has lace on it on the sleeves, bottom portion of the skirt, or on the front dress.

More styles of dresses include Sleeve, which is a dress with sleeves, can be any type of dresses listed but add long sleeves to it

Finally Backless dresses: these dresses have the back either cut out with a design or have no back at all. The list can go on and on.

Price ranges are a huge deal with prom dresses. The price range for dresses may go from $200 – $600. Every store has different price ranges so always make sure to look at the price before choosing the dress. Keep in mind this is not your wedding day so there’s no need to spend a huge amount of money on a dress; just have fun shopping. There are resale stores that sell prom dresses for a good price. You may never wear your prom dress again so think what you can afford and go with the price range you set for yourself.

As girls think about prom there’s a lot one can think about: remember, this is a night you will remember for the rest of your life. Choose the perfect dress, find a good price, and have fun.
