This past weekend Morp was held on Saturday Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the commons of Lemont High School. The tropical themed blacklight dance planned by the student council had an admission price of $15 including food and drinks.

Senior Jessica Lesnicki said, ¨The decorations really stood out and the neon wave looked really cool with the blacklight.¨

Students enjoyed the casual dance as the lunch room was transformed into a tropical oasis. Students danced through the night without a care in the world thanks to the DJ. Many would say Morp (just like it’s spelled) is the opposite of prom.

It is very different than prom since there is no need to dress up, find a date, or spend a lot of money. Morp is a laid back dance where students can just hang out in bright clothing with all their friends for a night and dance like crazy, making it a night no one should miss!

Senior Hope Heeg said, ¨Morp was really fun, the DJ was really good and played a lot of good music.¨

Playing music that appeals to the vibe of the dance, the DJ had everyone in the room jumping to songs from pop to rap the whole night. Artists such as Drake and Bruno Mars made students go wild with their songs “God’s Plan” and “Finesse.”

With most students going all out for this event, the decor and setup was not any less extravagant than their pumping music. The commons was changed from its blue and gold set and completely flipped into a neon, tropical dance. Catching the eyes of everyone who walked in, the Student Council did some of their best work in making Morp one for the books.
