Being a principal is not an easy job, but if there is anyone that can successfully manage running an entire school it is definitely Principal Mr. Eric Michaelsen!
Michaelsen doesn’t just consider being a principal his job; it is his priority. The word he would use to describe Lemont High School is “family.”
“Because we are so close, students and teachers all live in the community. We all want what is best for our school, Some community parents see teachers, and everyone gets to know each other,” said Michaelsen. LHS has a great combination of students, faculty, and parents that seem to be pulling the rope, which is very special.
Michaelsen believes that the school excels greatly because students have high expectations for themselves and they want to be successful so they work hard and trust their teachers. In addition, LHS was recently tabbed as a Blue Ribbon School, making it one of the top high schools in the country.
“I think the teamwork of the students, staff, and faculty is who I attribute the success of Lemont High School to. People that don’t have kids that attend this school are proud of this school,” said Michaelsen.
As principal of one of the top high schools in the country, Michaelsen is very proud of how hard students work and that teachers care about the success of their students. Michaelsen had also attended LHS himself.
“I love it; this place means a lot to me. When I went here, when I was a teacher here, dean, counselor and guidance director, also means a lot because my daughters went here,” said Michaelsen.
