The Lemont lacrosse season is in full swing and so far, both the JV and Varsity teams are exceeding expectations, even after a year of not having a season due to COVID-19. The varsity team is planning on ranking high amongst other high school teams in the state playoffs.

As of press time, the varsity team has a win:loss ratio of 4:3 and the JV team is 2:2. Some teams they have played include Washington, Plainfield, District 230 (Carl Sandburg, Victor J. Andrew, and Stagg), and Lincoln Way.

Head coach Tyler Zaremski said, “I believe that the Lemont Varsity lacrosse team can do very well this year in the state playoffs. With all the hard work and effort that has been set for the past few games, I believe Lemont could be a force to be reckoned with.”

The teams have been under a lot of pressure to succeed, with only two initial weeks to conduct tryouts and form rosters as well as prepare for their first game. Now the teams are in much better shape with knowing their teammates and performing to the best of their ability.
