25 year old Jeris Johnson has recently released his new single “Friday” featuring Trippie Redd. Johnson has a strong following on TikTok with a whopping one million followers. Jeris started releasing music in 2015, and signed with 300 Entertainment in 2020. His top song is “Damn!” that he released in 2021. He has been surrounded by music since he was born as he started playing instruments when he was really young. Music has always been a large part of his life as his parents both worked in bands; so it is no surprise that he works in the music industry. 

At first the song came off as a tad intense with the beginning of the song and this continued throughout the whole song. The song has a consistent beat that continues throughout the whole song. Although there was a consistent beat I felt as there was a mood shift a few times with some parts being really extreme, I feel as others lacked that intense or powerful emotion. The drums were really loud and kind of drowned out the singer’s voice at times, I still felt that the drums really brought the whole song together and gave the song that fierce feeling! The song’s intensity is also its downfall, the song was a bit too intense for some people.  

I would describe Johnson’s music as a futuristic grunge or pop punk, his latest music is similar to Nirvana’s music. Both his songs and some of their songs have strong drums in them. 

Personally, I believe the song was really good and deserves some positive attention. I think I would recommend this song to some people because it is very intense and some people may not enjoy it. But I do think that you should check out the song and see if you like it for yourself!
