A Connecticut classic: Is ‘Gilmore Girls’ worth your watch?
February 7, 2022
Simple, cheerful, uplifting and heartfelt are the four best words to describe “Gilmore Girls.” Most of us enjoy cuddling up and watching Netflix after a long day and “Gilmore Girls” is the perfect way to wind down your night and fulfill your binge-watching cravings.
The show takes you through the humble lives of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. While boring at first, the show describes the ups and downs of life and makes Rory Gilmore a character all teens can relate to.
The show first came out in late 2005 on the Warner Bros television network. However, Netflix added the show in 2014 and it has remained there ever since.
With the convenience of Netflix, “Gilmore Girls” seven seasons can be easily binge-watched and it is highly encouraged.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first started watching “Gilmore Girls” but was pleasantly surprised with every episode I continued to watch. The show became comfortable. I felt at peace while watching, which made the viewing experience as enjoyable as possible. I constantly had this show in the background while I was working on other things and still did not miss a beat.
While this show was truly amazing it was boring at times and very predictable. The show has seven very similar seasons. I recommend watching the pilot episode to see if you are interested, otherwise, the show will be very painful and boring to get through.
The show is simple. It does not have the action of “Criminal Minds” or “Outer Banks” but the romance, friendships and coming of age aspects throughout the show can appeal to almost anybody.
The next time you go to sit down and watch Netflix I highly recommend considering “Gilmore Girls,” because no one does a 2000’s coming of age show quite as well as this Stars Hollow crew.
