On March 11, Netflix released their newest sci-fi/comedy movie, “The Adam Project”. The movie has a bunch of big name actors such as Ryan Renolds, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo and Catherine Keener. Reynolds is mostly known for his role as “Deadpool” in the MCU but recently has picked up other roles in movies such as “Free Guy”, “Red Notice” and “Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard”.

The movie takes place in 2022 and follows  young 12-year-old Adam Reed, played by Walker Scobell. Young Adam meets his older, time-traveling self from 2050 who is played by Ryan Reynolds. The movie follows the two as old Adam attempts to go to 2018 for his mission to save his wife Laura, played by Zoe Saldana.

I found “The Adam Project” to be really fun and exciting. Between the action and sentimental scenes, the movie had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I loved how well Walker Scobell was able to match Ryan Reynolds’ energy and attitude. It felt as if they really cast a young Ryan Reynolds.

I highly recommend this movie for families with older children since there is some language and references that may not be appropriate for a younger audience. Overall the movie was very enjoyable and definitely a movie to put on your watch list.
