Homecoming week started off with a hit from the golf clubs to the country hats. With each class fighting to get a head start with dress up points, sophomores ended up winning the first day with 223 points, freshmen with 211 points, seniors with 200 points and juniors in last with 156 points.

However, with everyone getting ready there was a downfall with the number of skits Monday morning. A total of three skits were performed all by the senior class winning them an additional 60 points.

While the competition between classes is usually the focus during Homecoming week, the first day brought another divide between the student body: which is better? country or country club.

“Country because the music is better and the dressing up was much more fun,” said freshman Isabella Kula.

There were many different views on which one was better. “No variety in the Country, there’s only a sea of flannels and cowboy hats,” said sophomore Gabriel Peng.

Overall more people dressed up in country hats and flannel shirts and 63% of people think that country was a better theme. In the end this theme was the perfect way to start up the most memorable week of the year.
