Paige Rawl, 21, author of Positive

Renowned author Paige Rawl spoke in the PAC this morning to all members of the LHS community. Rawl’s memoir, Positive, was featured as one of the selections for “Our Book, Our School” this past summer.

Rawl spoke in two sessions- during first period for juniors and seniors and during second period for sophomores and freshmen. All students were given the opportunity to ask questions of Rawl after a brief presentation about HIV and AIDS and her experiences with bullying.

After listening to the inspirational presentation, senior Tristan Druelinger said, “[She} talked about topics that need to be covered at LHS.”

Junior Julia Orozco and senior Spenser Bailey agreed that after the presentation, they felt more educated about HIV and AIDS.

When asked about her perspective of Paige Rawl after the presentation, junior Jacqueline Tomecki felt almost the same, but said she “liked seeing her face-to-face.”
Rawl will head home to Madison tonight after eating lunch with several lucky students and hosting a meet and greet session in the LRC after school.
