Singer Chappell Roan is becoming a household name after opening for Olivia Rodrigo, going on tour and playing for the biggest crowd in Lollapalooza history. All this success grew over the course of a year as she ended up climbing to the top of the pop culture world.
With having only one album out, “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess,” Roan has had outstanding success in her music career. Some of her most notable songs are “Feminiomenon,” “Red Wine Supernova” and “HOT TO GO!” Each song leans heavily into the “pop princess” aesthetic that Roan is trying to create, meaning the songs are extremely female empowering and almost designed to be “pump up” anthems.
Roan is also one of the most popular music creators in the LGBTQ+ community at the moment and is very open about how she explores her sexuality. Roan performed at the 2024 Governors Ball Music Festival and represented the community by waving Pride flags, and by revealing that she declined the offer to play at the White House’s Pride festival. She made it very clear she would not perform until the queer community got the support and recognition they deserved by the government.
“This is a response to the White House, who asked me to perform for Pride. We want liberty, justice and freedom for all. When you do that, that’s when I’ll come,” Roan said.
By having such unique and strong personality traits, Roan’s charm grew her crowds from only a few hundred people to crowds of over 100,000 people. There’s no other artist quite as spunky and as sassy as Roan. Her attitude is very perky yet aggressive at the same time, as she captivates the audience with her feisty commentary and lyrics.
“I’m your favorite artist’s favorite artist,” Roan said at Coachella. “I’m your dream girl’s dream girl.”
While her rise to fame has been quick, it’s been a very eventful journey for Roan, and we can’t wait to see where she ends up.
