After almost two years of waiting, fans are ecstatic to hear that on Oct. 10 we will see five new episodes catching us up on what our favorite pogues have been up to. Then, on Nov. 7, we will get another set of episodes to wrap up the season. After the pogues finally got the gold in Season 3, “Outer Banks” fanatics are wondering what more they could ask for. 

This season is going to follow the pogues on their adventure to find Blackbeard’s hidden treasure, almost as if they are the Scooby-Doo mystery team and they’ve been hired to “solve the case.” The only difference is this time, they have everything to lose.

While the pogues had previously been poor, struggling to survive and willing to jeopardize everything for the gold, this time around they will have to sacrifice all their work and suffering it took to get to their current state of wealth and comfort. Many fans even theorize that, unlike the previous three seasons, one of the main characters will suffer a tragic death.

“I think that if they killed off Pope it would be such an impactful death within the series because he’s come so far throughout the show,” junior Nadia Wodziak said.

In the most recent trailer posted three weeks ago, there are many insane shots, such as JJ riding his dirt bike off a cliff, as well as the pogues plunging into the ocean decked out in scuba gear. Just like the previous seasons, we already know we will be on the edge of our seats as they risk their lives – and commit felonies – once again.

Although the high intensity of the show is a great way to keep viewers entertained, it is not the only appealing factor that the show provides. This season, many are excited to watch the friendships between the characters continue to flourish.

“There’s all this action and adventure, but it’s really about the bond between the friends,” director Shannon Burke said in her most recent interview with Netflix.

This season, five new characters are being introduced to create more tension between the pogues. Currently, fans are not informed on what the characters will bring to the story, but we know the actors portraying them: J. Anthony Crane, Pollyanna McIntosh, Brianna Brown, Rigo Sanchez and Mia Challis. 

While we aren’t exactly sure what this season holds in store, fans have high expectations for what chaos will ensue. Will they lose it all or will it be a happy ending for our ragtag group of treasure hunters? Find out Oct. 10!
