Kicking off the highly anticipated Homecoming spirit week, Dynamic Duo Day highlighted creative costumes from both students and staff. With Homecoming week now in full swing, many students participated in the first dress-up day with the seniors taking a strong lead with 236 points.
Students and staff showed their spirit by dressing up as recognizable pairs from popular television shows to iconic celebrities. To gain some early points, the sophomores, juniors and seniors participated in skits that showcased the characters and people they chose to duo as.
The sophomores took first place in the skits with Barbie and Buzz acquiring 25 points for their class. One of the favorite skits of the morning, the Lorax skit done by the senior class, won second place, adding 20 points to their class total.
“The Lorax [is the best costume] because she’s dressed in full orange and she has a belly and it’s just really funny,” junior Isabella Locasico said.
As students dressed as their favorite characters or people, many wanted to show off their creative costumes by performing entertaining skits to support their class as a whole.
“I’m biased in choosing the junior class [skit], but the Super Bass skit was super good,” junior Madison Bostjancic said.
Some popular duo costumes that were commonly seen throughout the day were “Super Mario Brothers,” Princess Peach and Daisy, “Subway Surfers,” “Scooby-Doo” characters, Sully and Mike Wazowski and Cosmo and Wanda.
With the rest of the week ahead, creativity will hopefully thrive as students and staff dress for the next few days, including the costume-worthy Superheroes vs. Villains Day and the iconic Celebrity Day.
