Every year, Homecoming week encourages students to get creative and put together outfits that display school spirit. There are five spirit days during the week leading up to the Homecoming dance.
Monday was Dynamic Duo Day. Many people went the extra mile to represent their favorite iconic duos. Although there were many amazing duos, one specifically stood out. Junior Matt O’Boyle dressed up as The Man with the Yellow Hat alongside junior Sam Arabe, who dressed up as Curious George. Both characters are from the popular TV show “Curious George.” These outfits played on the nostalgic appeal of teenagers and created a very unique costume for duos.
Tuesday was Superheroes vs. Villains Day. Students sported capes, t-shirts, and full-on costumes. Sophomore Mia Spadafora dressed as Gru from the “Despicable Me” movie series, and was accompanied by sophomores Bridget Karl, Liepa Karaliute, Adrianna Marziani and Maja Tyrala, who were dressed as minions. The dedication to the bit was what made the group stand out. This group was definitely the highlight of the day and they even took first place with their skit, Steal the Moon.
Wednesday was Celebrity Day. This spirit day challenged students to get creative and be detail-oriented to dress as an iconic celebrity. The standout for the day was junior Isabella Locassio who dressed as Elvis Presley. The attention to detail in this outfit was impeccable, the guitar took this outfit to the next level.
Seniors Bridget Kearns, Hannah Gornik, Jessica Windstrup and Gabriella Estrada were exceptionally dressed for Class Color Day. Their outfits fit the theme perfectly and went along with their skit for the day. Class Color Day is hard to get creative with, but these seniors went the extra mile.
For Blue and Gold day, the entire school donned their spirit. Some highlights were the sophomore class who many matched with gold bottoms and the Homecoming t-shirt and the cheer and dance team who all wore matching outfits. Overall, everyone was dressed for this day.
