Starting off every morning of Homecoming week is an opportunity to obtain points for your grade by creating fun skits and cheering with your friends. A skit can only earn points if it places fifth, fourth, third, second or first.
The morning skits are loved by many students. Some enjoy watching, while others enjoy going up and performing their skits in front of the crowd.
“My favorite part of the morning skits is [seeing] how friends come together to battle between the grades,” sophomore Oliver Wernio said.
Seniors had nine skits place throughout the week, sophomores had eight skits place, juniors had seven skits place and freshmen had none place.
In first place on Monday’s Dynamic Duo Day was the Sophomore Class with the skit Barbie and Buzz , which earned the sophomores 25 points. Tuesday’s Superhero v.s Villains Day saw the Sophomore class win first for the second day in a row with the skit Steal the Moon, giving them another 25 points. On Wednesday’s Celebrity Day the Spice Girls skit by the Junior Class won, earning them 25 points. Thursday’s Class Color Day had the Senior Class win with I knew you were trouble, giving them 25 points. On Friday’s Blue and Gold Day the seniors finished off Homecoming week with the winning skit Good Ol Days, which gained them another 25 points.
“I really liked the Good Ol Days [skit] because it was very sentimental because they are seniors and the song is about growing up,” sophomore Mia Spadafora said.
While only five skits a year get to place number one, all the skits are filled with silliness and talent. The skits are a chance to show off school spirit in a unique way.
The morning skits are always the best way to start off the Homecoming week days. The skits show everyone’s creative side and they are a reminder to be yourself once in a while.
