The Lemont High School drama club will be back on stage Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 at 7:00 p.m. for their annual fall play. This year the club is performing “Puffs.” Tickets cost $8 for students and senior citizens and $10 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased on RevTrack or at the door.
The play focuses on the seven years that Harry Potter was at Hogwarts, but zooms in on what the Hufflepuffs were doing at that time.
The story follows Wayne Hopkins played by junior Gregory Kasper, Oliver Rivers played by senior Nick Nadjioannou and Megan Jones played by junior Kate Malone. They play the main three “Puffs” as they overcome the awkwardness of their teenage years and explore their personal identity. “Puffs” is directed by Paula Troesch, who has been the director of many LHS productions in the past.
Auditions were held back in August while rehearsals started in September. The drama club has put in a lot of hard work to make this show a fun and comedic watch for its audiences. With many different elements to the show, it’s bound to intrigue many different audience members.
“My favorite part about “Puffs” are the battle scenes and all of the dances because there are fun songs and we get to use wands,” junior cast member Anabelle Dierking said.
Following the astounding success of last year’s fall play “A Night of Carol Burnett,” which was selected to perform at the Illinois Theater Festival, there are high expectations for the play.
The cast is excited to show off their hard work, so join them Oct. 31, Nov. 1 or Nov 2. as they take you to the magical land of Harry Potter.
