Taylor Swift announced almost a year ago that she will conclude The Eras Tour at the Vancouver shows in early December. Swift announced in late 2022 that she would begin the Eras Tour, making the announcement on an Instagram post. She then began her Eras Tour journey on March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Ariz. and has been touring since.
Swift’s record-breaking tour has sold over $4.35 million in tickets since March, and revenue continues to increase as her tour goes on. Swift is expected to reach numbers as high as $2 billion by the end of her tour from ticket sales alone. Swift makes about $13.6 million per concert.
Swift also had a 2-hour and 45-minute movie chronicle of her tour for those who could not be there to watch the Eras Tour live. The movie made $37 million in presales in just one day and earned over $261 million globally.
“This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December,” Swift said in a speech during her 100th show.
Swift is finding a new strategy to keep her marketing up after the tour. Recently, she announced on “Good Morning America” that she is launching a new book called “The Official Eras Tour Book.” The book will include over 500 photos and Taylor’s reflections from the tour. Swift also posted the announcement on her Instagram.
Swift says the tour has been the “most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in her life.” Although she loves the experience, the tour “eventually has to end,” Swift said.
