The Lemont varsity baseball team is gearing up for the 2025 Steven M. Bajenski Memorial Baseball Tournament, set to take place at Ozinga Field on May 23 and 24.
The team is off to a strong start in pool play, having recently defeated Carl Sandburg High School 10-4. Other teams in their pool include Montini Catholic and Hinsdale Central.
Leading the team in batting average is senior Shea Glotzbach, boasting an impressive 0.667. Meanwhile, senior Moe Luciano shines in on-base percentage, holding a perfect 1.000. Their performances are crucial as the team aims for a successful tournament run.
This year, the varsity baseball team embarked on their annual out-of-state trip, traveling to Clearwater, Fla. The team finished with a 2-2 record, with losses to Northside Christian (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Cambridge Christian (Tampa, Fla.), but secured victories against Dunedin and Berkeley Prep (Tampa, Fla.). The players returned from the trip feeling satisfied with their performance.
As the season progresses, the team is committed to improving and making a strong push for the playoffs. The seniors – Moe Luciano, Tyler Lebak, Matt Devoy, Branden Gomez, Ryan Burke, Rocco Luciano, Donovan Moleski, Jack Malak, Zach Corse, Lance Delude, Jacob Parr, Nick Reno, Sean Roessler, Connor Wilms and Shea Glotzbach – prepare for their senior night at home on May 22 against Argo High School.
