‘A Minecraft Movie’ includes cameos of Minecraft content creators

“A Minecraft Movie” has many showings throughout the month of April, tickets ranging from 10$ – 12.35$.

On April 4, “A Minecraft Movie” was released in theaters as an adventure action movie. “A Minecraft Movie,” based on the popular video game Minecraft, was first announced in 2014 and has been teased for years.

The plot of the movie revolved around a group of characters who go on an adventure in the blocky-style world of Minecraft in order to get back home. They face difficult challenges that are featured in the video game, like surviving the night filled with hostile mobs while also learning how to build and craft. Throughout their journey to achieve the goal of getting back home, they use the power of creativity and teamwork to work through the challenges of the game. The film captures the main points of the game like creativity, imagination and community.

The movie is rated PG for language, violence/action, rude humor and scary images. The film is geared towards younger children, but it resonates with audiences of a variety of ages because of how long Minecraft has been around.

The main characters are Steve (Jack Black),Garret Garrison (Jason Mamoa), Dawn (Danielle Brooks), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Henry Sebastian Eugene Hansen). The only character that is original to Minecraft is Steve, who is the “main character” in the video game.

While the main cast does not feature anyone who is necessarily related to Minecraft, a few of the background characters are well known Minecraft content creators. These characters are shown at the beginning of the movie for a short period of time. Some of the names include Daniel Middelton (DanTDM), Jessica Bravura (Aphmau) and Elizabeth Dwyer (LDShadowLady). The names listed are just a few of the many people in “A Minecraft Movie” that are important to the Minecraft community.

Many content creators had made cameos for the movie but one creator, Alex, better known as TechnoBlade online. TechnoBlade unfortunately passed away in June of 2022 due to his battle with cancer. The YouTuber was loved by the Minecraft community and “A Minecraft Movie” paid tribute to him during the movie when the characters encounter a pig with a crown.
