For a 12th year, Taste of Lemont circles back to downtown on Sept. 6 from 5-11 p.m. for another year full of food, fundraisers and fun.
Hosted by the Lemont High School Educational Foundation (LHSEF), Taste of Lemont has proven to be one of Lemont’s most notable and successful events. Currently, the LHSEF is led by president Curtis Barndollar.
“Lemont’s such a great town. If it wasn’t for the people coming out, it wouldn’t be what it is,” Barndollar said.
The LHSEF plays a huge role in uniting the community and consistently providing support for the Lemont Township.
So far, the LHSEF has generously gifted Lemont High School close to $625,000 in grant money to offer a helping hand to students and staff. The LHSEF foundation also contributed nearly $125,000 to help build the CITGO Innovation Academy. As always, the proceeds from Taste of Lemont will fund various educational opportunities at LHS
Taste of Lemont has over 20 vendors this year, from Wooden Paddle to Bonita Bowls, highlighting the best eats of Lemont. This list includes returnees and also many new vendors.
“We have 21 vendors this year […] seven or eight more than we’ve had in the past,” Barndollar said.
Given the growth and popularity of the event over the years, parking this year has been made easier than ever before.
“This year we’re adding parking, which is always a big deal in downtown Lemont, so we’ve worked with [LHS]. We’re going to have a shuttle so [attendees] can park at the high school and shuttle to the event for free,” Barndollar said.
You can purchase Taste of Lemont tickets online through the LHS website for $10, or buy them at the event for $15. Entry is free for children under 14 and LHS students with a school issued ID.
