On Aug. 6 a new season of “Wednesday,” a spin off show about the dark daughter of the Addams family, was released. Viewers’ interest rose when they realized that only four of the eight episodes were released.
Starring Jenna Ortega, the show is based on the young aspiring author Wednesday Addams as her parents send her to a school for “outcasts” called Nevermore. Wednesday meets her new roommate, Enid Sinclair, upon entering the school and they quickly become friends.
The second season centers around the character Tyler who was recently exposed for being a dangerous monster called a Hyde. Tyler and Wednesday share a moment together in a cell, where Tyler was chained up after being taken away for his monstrous acts.
Social media exploded with fan edits and videos regarding this tense scene between Wednesday and Tyler, sparking controversy on whether this enemies to lovers plot is worth watching.
The first half of the season ends with a battle between the two, resulting in Wednesday being thrown out of a second story window.
The second half of the season was released on Sept. 3. The episode started with Wednesday in a coma-like state in a hospital, where she quickly wakes up and continues on with her typical Wednesday activities.
The season ends with countless fatalities and a threat that Nevermore may close once and for all. Viewers worldwide are waiting for the Season 3 renewal that Netflix announced in July, just before the second season premiered.
Will something happen between Wednesday and Tyler? Will Nevermore truly be never-more? Stay tuned on Netflix to find out.
