At the annual Homecoming game, the Lemont junior varsity and varsity football team beat T.F South High School with a score of 55-0 and 56-6, respectively.
For the junior varsity game, T.F South struggled to figure out Lemont’s defense, scoring 0 points for the whole game. The varsity game didn’t disappoint either. Some highlight plays during the game were the 65 yard touchdown run and the 56 yard touchdown pass both in the second quarter.
The student section did not disappoint, full of the classic Lemont blue and gold, students brought excitement and school spirit into the stands. From the freshmen to seniors, students went all out on theme. Fans and students filled the stands, cheered and supported the teams till the very end. Cowbells rang from the stands for every play, creating an exciting atmosphere for students, fans and athletes.
“It was fun and everyone was cheering…I liked all the energy,”said freshman Ella Myslinski.
The varsity dance team performed a hip hop routine to a Kendrick Lemar mashup. The team’s dance showcased their amazing technique.
“The dance team is very supportive and like [a] big sister hood. [We] treat each other with respect and help each other out,” freshman Zoe Davis said.
The varsity cheer team’s performance left the student section in thunderous applause with their Homecoming cheer routine. The cheer included advanced skills such as two-man stunts, rotating scorpion stunts and tumbling ripples.
Overall, the Homecoming game left fans satisfied and gave the perfect close to an eventful Homecoming spirit week. We wish the best of luck to the junior varsity and varsity football team as they finish their season.
