Taylor Swift released her new album “Life of a Showgirl” on Oct. 3 and attracted fans new and old. This album consists of 12 new songs and a musical collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.
Swift’s dramatic change of style truly captivated her fans as her album graphics contain many revealing showgirl outfits, straying from her original performance look.
“Life of a Showgirl” is Swift’s 12th studio album, highlighting her life as a full-time performer.
“I like the fact that she focused more on rhythm and more on the songs themselves than the lyrics,” junior Victor Rafacz said. “I think she really wanted to make some fun pop songs that people would enjoy.”
Swifties have been waiting anxiously for the album to drop, specifically for the shocking collaboration with Carpenter. Their song “Life of a Showgirl” is the very last song in the album, leaving listeners with a satisfying ending to their musical experience.
Although many listeners were shocked with this song’s release, the Swift and Carpenter collab has been teased previously on social media. Instagram account @taylornation continuously hinted to this collab in instagram posts with multiple including Carpenter.
“I thought [the collab] was a great idea because they’re both super hot artists right now, and I think that really worked in their favor because they’ve marketed themselves as friends,” Rafacz said.
Whether you are a Swifty or not, it’s no lie that this major change of pace has impacted social media as a whole. Now, Swift leaves fans to wonder: will there be another tour?
