Apple orchard, pumpkin patch offers fall festivities

If you’re looking for a place to go for autumn festivities, look no further! Located in Waterman, Ill., Honey Hill Orchard is both a pumpkin patch and an apple orchard. From a pumpkin patch to hayrides, to dozens of homemade treats, this orchard is the perfect place for families and friends.

Parking is available right next to the farm, making transporting the heavy pumpkins extremely easy.

We first went to the pumpkin patch and there were multiple sections of healthy pumpkins to choose from. Not only is the pumpkin selection great, but the pumpkins are only 29 cents per pound (so of course, we bought three).

After the pumpkin patch, we went on the hayride and then to the apple orchard. Not only were the rows and rows of apple trees beautiful, but there were delicious apples to choose from. Each apple looked absolutely delicious and the trees were all healthy.

The bakery is arguably the best part of the entire farm. We purchased homemade apple cider donuts, apple cider sundaes, and apple pies. Needless to say, everything was absolutely delicious. Baked with the apples grown on the farm, the food tasted extremely fresh.

The overall experience of my time at Honey Hill Orchard was definitely one to remember. Everyone there was friendly and we bought some quality pumpkins and apples.  The best time to go is definitely mid-October due to the fact that all of the leaves are changing; the weather is ideal and it’s the perfect time for fall festivities.
