Mu Alpha Theta inducted 50 new members on Wednesday, Nov. 2 during the PLC period.

Mu Alpha Theta is a mathematics honors society which inspires the subject in high school and two-year college students.

Member Justin Haase stated, “We help students in the math center with math problems. You can tutor anyone and everyone that needs help with mathematics.”

Members of Mu Alpha Theta tutor students that enter the math center seeking help. The student tutors can assist their peers and help them understand difficult math concepts.

Haase said, “I think that you learn that a lot of students have more problems than you in the subject.” Haase also said, “It’s made it easier to help fellow students with math than within the classroom.”

Mu Alpha Theta is no ordinary activity; it generates solid knowledge in the subject that can demonstrate a versatile student.

Like any school activity, there are requirements to become a member; you do have to be a sophomore to be considered. Haase said, “The main requirements are to have a 3.5 GPA in math and you have had to take pre-calculus.”

Haase has some advice for the new inductees; “[Keep] tracking your hours.”
