Lemont basketball shoots their way to another win

The basketball game against Oak Forest was held at Lemont High School Feb. 12, at 7 p.m.  Originally the game was going to be held on Friday, Feb. 9, but due to the snowstorm on Friday night, it was moved to the 12.

This was a very exciting game to watch, especially due to Oak Forest being one of our school’s main rivals. Lemont always has a lot of fans and students that come out to watch them play. Even with it being a Monday night, Lemont still had a lot of people that came out to support the team.

¨Watching Lemont basketball this year has been very exciting and I always love going to the games,¨ said senior student Jessica Lesnicki.

The game started off with Lemont in the lead and by halftime the score was 24-12 with Lemont in the winning position. One of the reasons that Oak Forest was having such a hard time scoring on was because of Lemont’s very strong defense.

With great game play by Paul O’Leary (16 points), Nate Ferguson (17 points) and along with the rest of the team, Lemont was able to secure the win. Lemont ended up winning with a score of 55-31. This was a great victory for the Lemont basketball team, as there are only a few more games left before the playoffs begin.
