As the school year is winding down, many students are switching up their schedules for the 2018-2019 school year. As a student who has been in many activities and classes, here are 5 classes you should take in your high school career.

  1. Modern Fiction: This class may sound boring, but where else can you go to exoctic locations and go on amazing adventures without leaving Lemont? The novels you’ll read will sound insane, but soon you will realize how much these stories relate to your life!
  2. Digital Photography: Junior Kaylie Lingl mentioned “Photography has become my favorite class because the teacher lets me express myself and add my own twist to all our assignments.” It’s a perfect way to let your artistic side shine through without worrying about messing up a painting.
  3. Food Prep: You don’t want to starve, and cooking is a skill that you need for survival. Food Prep is perfect for the beginner chef because the teachers don’t expect you to make fantastic food, they just want you to know how to safely cook and prepare food.
  4. Foreign Language: While taking a language may not be required anymore for graduation many colleges and universities require a minimum of two years when applying. These classes also expose students to more than just another language, but another culture and lifestyle. You will do amazing projects about another country’s education system, restaurants, and iconic landmarks…which will come in handy when traveling
  5. Personal Finance: Even if you aren’t interested in a business major, personal finance will be one of the most important classes in your high school career.  It’s imperative we all learn how to balance a budget, pay taxes and invest in the stock market. These are life skills you’ll never regret learning.

Lemont High School has many classes to offer, and these are just a few of the amazing classes you can find.
