The “espresso” theme is teal and brown, with a majority of the promo photos having teal backgrounds.

Following the success of opening for Taylor Swift during the European leg of the ‘Eras Tour,’ Sabrina Carpenter is now branching out with a Skims partnership and featured in the Coachella lineup.

With Coachella starting April 12, Carpenter announced a new single titled “espresso” on April 8. The song was released April 11 and the music video released on April 12.

“just wanted to put out a little song before Coachella,” Carpenter captioned an Instagram post.

As of April 12, “espresso” topped both the top debut songs globally and in the USA on Spotify. The single gained almost 18 million streams on Spotify in less than a week. Carpenter preformed the song live for the first time during her Coachella set.

As a huge Sabrina Carpenter fan, I was so excited to see the release of new music. Following the 2023 album “emails i can’t send”, I was itching for more new music.

The song starts off with a fun, upbeat tune and goes straight into the chorus to give the song a fun, looping vibe. I love how light and airy the song feels, it reminds me of summer.

In the song, Carpenter sings about how she keeps men awake like a shot of espresso would.

She sings, “And now he’s thinkin’ ’bout me every night, oh. Is it that sweet? I guess so. Say you can’t sleep, baby, I know. That’s that me, espresso.”

The lyrics, specifically the chorus, are extremely catchy and easy to remember. I had almost the whole song memorized in less than a few days and it easily became my number one song to listen to.

The music video has a very retro and vintage summer vibe. It reminded me of the Disney Channel movie series “Teen Beach Movie” and overall is super fun.

I believe that this song definitely has the potential to become the song of the summer. You do not need to be a Sabrina Carpenter fan to enjoy this song. Personally, I know that I will be listening to this song on repeat these upcoming weeks.
