On Nov. 3, 2024, the Chicago Bears lost 29–9 to the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
On Sunday the Bears got off to a slow start once again, as the Cardinals dominated the Bears’ defense, the Cardinals had three rushing touchdowns and two field goal kicks.
Likewise, the Bears struggled on offense as well, as they were unable to get the ball into the endzone, only scoring nine points all of which came from Bears kicker Cairo Santos. Santos went 3/3 in this game.
Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams had a decent performance on Nov. 3, he recorded 217 yards and had a 53% completion rate, but Williams was not able to get the ball into the endzone.
On Nov. 3 the Bears were missing a few notable starters on defense, including Bears defensive back Jaquon Brisker (concussion), offensive line Braxton Jones (knee) and defensive line Montez Sweat (shin).
Bears cornerback Tyrquie Steveson will not be starting due to a taunting incident with fans last week.
After the game Bears head coach Matt Ebuflus was asked about the team’s performance on Sunday in a postgame interview with Larry Mayer. “We’ve got to find some good answers for putting our guys in position and we’ve got to do a great job of executing this week. We’re 4-4 right now at the halfway point through and we’re starting a new season now. To me, it’s about getting this first victory and being 1-0 this week.”
Moving on to week nine, the Bears attempt to regain their momentum as they return to Chicago to play the New England Patriots on Nov. 10, 2024, at Soldier Field in Chicago at 12 p.m. CST. The Patriots are led by tight-end Hunter Henry.
