Kyla Owens is a four-year varsity starter on the Girls’ Bowling team and is a graduating senior. Owens is attending Drury University in Springfield, Mo. and will be majoring in Psychology with a dual credit in Pre-Occupational Therapy, as well as bowling on her university’s team.
Owens decided that she wanted to go into Occupational Therapy because of her passion for the topic. “[I] love working with children who have disabilities,” said Owens.
She had already known that she wanted to do something in the medical field. “This program is great because it gives me a variety of routes to choose from. I know the program at Drury will lead me in the right direction,” said Owens of her college decision.
She will also be bowling on Drury’s team. “[I am] very excited to play and grow closer with the team next year,” said Owens.
Before she heads down to Missouri this fall, Owens will be working at NWSCRA, which is a summer camp for children with disabilities. Some of the students attending are her peers which she has helped mentor during her time at Lemont.
