Don’t know where to Gogh for fun?

The Art Institute of Chicago has a new exhibit and it might be the best one yet. The Vincent Van Gogh exhibit, titled “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms,” is being featured at the museum until May 10. It features all three of the famous Bedroom paintings, a large display of his works, a real replica of the actual Bedroom, and so much more.

This is the first time that all three of the Bedrooms are together in North America, for the other two typically live in a museum, dedicated strictly to Van Gogh, in Amsterdam. This monumental occurrence is drawing near thousands of art lovers who want to look at all of them together once again.

Walking into the exhibit is like stepping into Van Gogh’s life; there are books that inspired him, timelines of his accomplishments, and letters between him and his brother, Theo. It is absolutely breathtaking. And if you are an art buff, then this is your place to be.

But, if you aren’t super into art, and instead into science, an entire section of the exhibit is dedicated to the science behind the paintings. Besides the full scale replica, there is a video portion that talks about how the paintings can be dated with paint analyzing and how the colors decay over time. Very neat stuff.

So if you’re just wandering around Chicago during this Spring Break and need something amazing to do, then head over to the Art Institute and explore the museum; make sure to spend extra time looking into the magnificent life of Vincent Van Gogh.

Besides standard admission, it is only five dollars more to view the entire exhibit, which is more than worth it. Gogh there; trust me.
