On Monday, the track team had their first practice of the season led by Coach Tim Plotke, Coach Abbey Scupin, and Coach Chris Hill.

Last season, junior Julianne Mcclatchy, senior Celine Ratulowski, senior Gianna Lopez, and graduate Gerda Simkeviciute beat the 4 by 4 100 meter dash, with a time of 4:01.98.

¨I´m excited for the 4 by 4 relay this year coming off of a good season last year. I´m nervous because we won´t have Gerda but I think we will still be able to be just as good if not better than last year,¨ said Mcclatchy.

Last year, the track team broke the record four times spell out four here with the 4 by 4 relay.

The track team members started their practice off with their usual routine, gathering together, and discussing what the season is going to look like.

Senior Beata Drozda said, ¨I´m thrilled for the 4 by 8 this year because we have a shot at the record this year but I’m anxious that we will fall short of it again like we did last year.¨

As for senior Lily Goodman, she said she’s most looking forward to the 800 meter dash this year and hopes to get a personal best on it.

¨I love our team this year and I think we will do just fine this year,¨ said Mcclatchy.

Their first meet is Feb 14 at Plainfield North High School.
