From Nov. 3-5, the Lemont Drama Club performed their fall play, “Emma”. The story of a matchmaker who finds herself falling in love was captivating to audiences both young and old.

The main character Emma, played by senior Camryn Caruso, works to find a husband for her close friend Harriet. Harriet, sophomore Shea Holt, is an orphan girl who lives in Mrs. Goddard’s Home for Girls.

The dynamic duo navigates the challenges of love in the search to find someone for Harriet to spend the rest of her life with. In a turn of events, Emma, who previously claimed she would never marry, finds herself falling in love with her family friend, Mr. Knightely. Harriet then admits that she is no longer in search of love and is fully supportive of Emma’s relationship.

The show ends with the marriage of Emma and Knightely as they are supported by their dear friend Harriet.

The characters’ obvious chemistry and skillful acting make this a must-see show. The wonderful showmanship by the actors and the dedication of the back-stage crew work hand in hand to contribute to this amazing performance.
