After months of fan speculation, singer Sabrina Carpenter announced the release of her sixth studio album “Short n’ Sweet” on Aug. 23.
Fan favorite singles “Please Please Please” and “Espresso” were released early in the summer. “Espresso” has recently reached over a billion streams and is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200. After hearing the singles, fans had high hopes for the full album.
Amidst all the anticipation, Carpenter announced on June 20 that she would be going on her first ever arena tour. The tour starts on Sept. 23 in North America, followed by her European leg on March 3, 2025.
Unfortunately, many fans had trouble getting tickets due to high prices and resellers. Prices for nosebleed tickets reached up to $300, stopping many from obtaining tickets.
So far, the album has three music videos: “Taste”, “Please Please Please” and “Espresso.” Carpenter featured actor Barry Keoghan in her “Please Please Please” music video fueling rumors of a romance between the two. After speculation, actress Jenna Ortega was revealed to be in her most recent video “Taste.”
As a whole, the album has a summer vibe to it, some fans going as far as calling it the “Album of the Summer.” Carpenter’s vibes have changed in the past few years, after completing her contract with Disney Music Group. Her music is now for a more mature audience, this album being proof.
The album lives up to its name “short” as it is only 36 minutes long. Some fans protested this as they hoped it would be longer, however, the quality of the music has helped make up for the short run time.
If you enjoy pop music, I would recommend this album for you. “Short n’ Sweet” is available on all major streaming platforms now, make sure to check it out!
