On Oct. 6 the Chicago Bears had a dominant 36–10 victory over the Carolina Panthers at Soldier Field.
The Bears looked solid on both sides of the ball, as Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 304 yards, had two touchdowns and was 68% complete.
Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore also had a day, as he had 105 yards and two touchdowns in only five receptions.
Bears halfback Roschon Johnson led the game in rushing touchdowns having two, however HB DeAndre Swift led the game in rushing as he carried for 73 yards.
Not only did the offense dominate, but the defense did as well, as the Bears defense had three takeaways against the Panthers.
A huge hit by safety Jaquan Brisker late in the second quarter forced a fumble recovered by defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. This was followed by another forced fumble by linebacker Tremane Edmunds which was recovered by cornerback Kyler Gordan on the 18 yard line. The last takeaway was a late interception made by Safety Kevin Byard lll.
“I was pleased with the offense, the way they operated,” Bears Head Coach Matt Ebuflus said in a postgame interview with Larry Mayer.
Bears tight end Cole Kmet also commented on the game during a postgame interview with Larry Mayer.”I think it was just building on our confidence going back to last week,”
Moving on to week six, the Bears will travel to London, England and play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Oct. 13 2024 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 8:30 a.m. central time. The Bears come into this game 3–2 and look to build on to their two game win streak against a 1–4 Jaguars team, led by 2020 number one overall pick QB Trevor Lawrence.
