From winning their first postseason victory since 2010 to securing the NFC (National Football Conference) North division title, the Chicago Bears had a historic 2025 season.
Starting the season, the Bears welcomed new head coach Ben Johnson after former head coach Matt Eberflus was fired in 2024. Johnson was hired in January of 2025 and—in his first season with the Bears—led the team to an 11-6 record, transforming the team after their 5-12 record the previous year.
“It is undeniable how passionate [Johnson] is for serving in the role of head coach of the Chicago Bears,” Bears general manager Ryan Poles said. “This is just the beginning.”
Along with the success of Johnson as head coach, quarterback Caleb Williams had a historic rookie-to-sophomore leap, becoming the first Bears quarterback in history to surpass 3,900 passing yards.
This resulted in a 31-27 win against the Green Bay Packers that left Bears fans with high hopes for the rest of the season. However, the Bears’ playoff run was cut short by a narrow 20-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Round.
Despite the disappointment of the postseason turnout for the Bears, the team remains focused on the bigger picture.
“It’s a frustration. It’s a fire,” Williams said in an interview with Andscape. “[I’m] obviously not happy about the outcome [and] obviously frustrated about the outcome. But that’s over with, and I can’t go back and change it. [I’m] going to go back and watch, figure out how I can be better for the near future and help this organization get to where we want to be.”
