An era ends

The Class of 2017 goes onto bigger and better things

As the 2016-2017 school years comes to a close, the senior class prepares for graduation and the great escape into a bigger world.

Now, everyone’s experience in high school is different. We spend roughly four years of our time here, and that’s where the similarity ends. Different students go to different classes, make different friends, and join different clubs.

But, then we all come together in the end for graduation- a night where everyone realizes everything they’ve accomplished.

No one’s senior year will go exactly as planned, though. This is something important to keep in mind because no matter what happens, there has to be a reason for everything. More than anything though, be proud of how far you’ve come and how far you have yet to go.

Siena Schuth said, “[It was] an overall great time.”

Similarly, Shannon O’Donnell said, “I made memories in high school that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”

Megan Atherton said, “High school was the best and worst time of my life so far.”

Lastly, Rose Arnold said, “My high school experience has truly been unforgettable. I came into high school knowing what I wanted to be, but not who I wanted to be. Well, not everything has gone according to the plan, but my teachers and friends have made me into the person I wanted and needed to be.”

Arnold puts things into words what a lot of us knew, and while that may have changed, it was mostly us who changed, shaped by the people around us who have impacted us so greatly in the past four years.

Which is why I say “Goodbye” to my fellow students and to the teachers who have done so much for us. It truly is a wonder getting to go to LHS.
