Louis Tomlinson, the former One Direction band member, just released his third world tour, coming to the United Kingdom and the United States in 2026. His new album, titled “How Did I Get Here?” is scheduled to be released on Jan 23. Tomlinson’s tour kicks off in the United Kingdom on March 23 and comes to the United States on June 4.
Tomlinson’s new album is said to be on the “sunnier side” with upbeat, summer-like songs. Tomlinson wants this album to be more upbeat compared to his last album, released in 2022, “Faith in the Future.”
“It’s been a long time since, professionally and personally, I have been able to have a little spring in my step. So hopefully that comes across in the record,” Tomlinson said in an interview with Rolling Stone.
Tomlinson’s main inspiration for the album came while he was on a vacation to Costa Rica in May of 2025.
“As I’ve got a bit older, I’m really buying into more hippie-ish ideas. I realized I liked the idea of just bathing in that atmosphere and seeing what happened to the music there. I don’t think songs like ‘Lemonade,’ ‘Sunflowers’ and ‘Lazy’ would have happened without Costa Rica,” Tomlinson said.
Tomlinson just released his first single, “Lemonade,” from the album on Sept. 30, and it has already become a huge success. As of Oct. 24, the song already has six million streams on Spotify.
“How Did I Get Here” illustrates a positive place Tomlinson has worked hard to get to. The artist’s life has been marked with immense loss from his mother, sister and band-mate/best friend, Liam Payne. However, it is clearly evident that Tomlinson maintains a “glass half full mentality” and is persistent in not letting those moments define him or his career.
If you’re looking for an upbeat and vibrant song to brighten your day, check out “Lemonade” and keep an eye out for the release of this sure-to-be ecstatic album.
