As Homecoming spirit week reaches its peak, students and staff continue to gleam with the creative costumes of different celebrities. Following the Dynamic Duo and Superheroes vs. Villains days, students have dressed up as celebrities, from Adam Sandler to Travis Kelce. Students and staff have been exceptionally creative with their costumes this week.
In an effort to obtain as many points as possible, an abundance of students have been participating in and creating skits, some more organized than others.
The junior class took the cake this morning during the skits with a spectacular Spice Girls performance, placing first and obtaining 25 points for their class. Other skits that were placed in the top five included Barden Bellas, Senior Mashup, Bruno Mars and Finesse.
“My favorite skit was the Bruno Mars one,” senior Mia Murzanski said. “I thought it was really unique and [Maya Hollendoner] used her own voice.”
Some of our favorite costumes included Elvis, Christina Aguilera and Pitbull. There were a variety of other outfits, ranging from Taylor Swift to Jesus, making passing periods a very interesting sight.
“Today, my favorite costume was either Ice Cube or Kanye West,” senior Anicka Herout said.
So far, seniors have the lead with a total of 805 points, with the sophomores following with 558 points, juniors with 533 and freshman with 453.
As Celebrity Day comes to a close, students are preparing for the final two days of Homecoming week, including Class Color Day and Blue & Gold Day, the annual end to the week. Thursday brings new challenges as grades go against each other in the annual Homecoming games. Student spirit and tensions are at an all time high during Class Color Day, with students blinded by the haze of competitiveness to show who is the best. Remember to stay safe and be respectful, but keep up the school spirit, Lemont High School!
